What is it?

The Vulcanus programme is organised by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and consists of industrial placements for EU (Vulcanus in Japan) and Japanese (Vulcanus in Europe) students. The participants are chosen from among the best students, either in the last year of their undergraduate studies or following a postgraduate course (Master, PhD) in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture or Sciences. The ultimate objective is to familiarise a pool of future executives with the other side's business culture, so that they will be well-placed to help their future employers in their business relations with Europe or Japan.

About the EU-Japan Centre

The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is a unique venture between the European Commission (Directorate-General for Enterprise & Industry) and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Its main objective is to promote industrial cooperation between European and Japanese companies.
